Hope everyone had a killer 4th of July! Lots of fun fishing right now. Upper Owens has a ton of wild fish, planted rainbows, and a few random lunkers hiding in deep pools / undercut banks. In the morning you’ll find pods of fish rising to fluttering caddis and emerging female tricos. Later they are eating the spinners, on the surface and drowned… San Joaquin River is a gorgeous place to hike and fish (open only on Fri/Sat/Sun). Flows down there are between 150 - 200 cfs, wet wading the way to go. Try dry dropper setups, terrestrials and some big Mayfly dry patterns. Hot Creek flows are low and clear with some weeds to contend with.. Fishing a hopper dropper in the slots will get into some nice wild bows and browns.
