It’s been different season from any I can remember. Some fisheries in amazing shape, some that are usually good this time of year are a little more challenging. Tons of hoppers in Hot Creek Canyon, and tricos and caddis are taking some fish in the am. Some sections of Upper O you’ll see tons of bugs early. Cover some water here and you’ll find a pool here and there with some big fish. San Joaquin River is still the prettiest fly fishing setting we have, and hiking into untouched sections and casting dry flies is super fun. Hit it now as flows are dropping fast.
